There are the following ones:
1. CANCER OF PROSTATE
 It is a group of support for patients with prostate cancer and his relatives, vital and positive influence before the patients who suffer serious illnesses, and who go accompanied by intense emotions, especially of anxiety, confusion and depression. A constant is the fear, in his widest sense. The work of this group of support is that of helping to relieve the emotional and affective alteration of the patients and his relatives, and help them to confront this way the situation with a much more constructive attitude.
Just as in breast cancer, FEFOC has obtained the authorization of American Cancer Society (ACS) for the translation and diffusion of his book "Guide for the treatment of the patients with prostate cancer".
2. BREAST CANCER (Group Irina Vargas)
FEFOC wants to contribute to the increase of information about the best therapeutic options opposite to the detection of the breast cancer, as well as also to sensitize the feminine population on the need to realize a periodic control for the precocious detection of the illness.
FEFOC has organized a team composed by 20 persons (10 mastectomizadas), five doctors and a psychologist like group of work, which faces by telephone the interested persons in receiving information, formation or support in breast cancer. The telephone number of this service is 93.217.21.82, and it works from Monday until Friday from 11 to 15 of the evening.
FEFOC organizes training courses directed so much to healthy persons as persons affected by the cancer, on prevention, precocious diagnosis, therapeutic options and control panel (psychological support, treatment of couple, etc.).
FEFOC, with the express authorization of National Cancer North American Institute, has translated, adapted and edited the book "what he needs to know about breast cancer", directed to the public in general and in that there are explained all the aspects related to the breast cancer. This book has been distributed by the Spanish territory.
Also, and with authorization of American Cancer Society (ACS), FEFOC has translated, edited and spread the book "Guide for the treatment of the patients with breast cancer".
FEFOC investigates the patients with breast cancer, both at psychological and sociological level. In collaboration with Caritas and other similar entities, we have concluded an evaluation of the experiences and knowledge of the breast cancer in 541 women of the most disadvantaged social classes.
A survey is in march, already with 325 included women, by means of 42 questions that proposes to know the treatment of the breast cancer as the experience and the proper sick person feels it.

Across our free office, route e-mail, like all our activities, to which one can gain access in fefoc@fefoc.org, we receive consultations in breast cancer of the national territory, of Spanish America and they begin coming of Spanish-speaking from USA.
Once a year we celebrate a big public meeting on breast cancer, alumnus "THE WOMAN AND THE BREAST CANCER". The advances appear had during the year in breast cancer, results of surveys, testimonies, etc. The Presidency of Honor of the above mentioned meetings has been seen honest, with the presence, of Mrs Ann Botella, by Mrs Luisa Rudi, Mrs Camen Alborch. In the year 2001, the above mentioned Presidency obtained in Exma Sra Mrs Irene Rigau Oliver, Social Consellera de Benestar of Generalitat de Catalunya.
3. CANCER AND TOBACCO
30 % of deaths for cancer is related to the tobacco. The Public Education has served to stabilize and even to reduce the percentage of smokers between the men, but neither not in adolescents nor in women; rather everything opposite. For it, FEFOC wants to help to raise to social denunciation the new advertizing tendencies that are developing on the marks of tobacco, directed clearly to adolescents and women. The big tobacco companies have modified his target towards young, much more vulnerable and easily influenced publics.
FEFOC tries to improve the Public Education on the subject of tobacco in the adolescence and in women and help to give facility to the one who wants to leave the above mentioned habit.
Other one of the actions that want to be tackled in the above mentioned ambience is the "White Book on the Tobacco", selecting like concrete targets the women, and especially, to the adolescents.
FEFOC has created a Unit of Disuse Tabáquica, to help those persons to want to allow smoking.
Fefoc there is desarollado a PROGRAM OF DISUSE OF THE TOBACCO to help him to stop smoking
4. NUTRITION AND CANCER
FEFOC takes part in studies on nutrition and cancer. We have produced a leaflet on Nutrition and Cancer, which is spreading at present.
5. INVESTIGATION
Apart from already mentioned aspects, FEFOC, investigates the following thing:
Started of studies of knowledge of the European Code against the Cancer. An important survey is showing a few very low results, what can you imply the need for a sociological investigation to design intervention mechanisms.
Investigation with regard to the alterations of the quality of life in 392 patients with breast cancer, emphatically in the sexual malfunctions and of couple immediately after the diagnosis.
Evaluation of the effects, attitudes and information of patients with prostate cancer.
Evaluation of the grade of dependency on the tobacco in smokers, by means of the questionnaire of Fagerström, got in the web with the permission of the author.
Knowledge with regard to the cancer in general and of breast in particular in women of high economic and social class (with the target to compare it with the Caritas results (gathered till now information of 50 women).
Evaluation in the web of the strategies of confrontation to the breast cancer with the Mental Adjustment to Cancer scale of M. Watson and S. Greer, with the permission of the authors.
